GaN crystal structure

What is gallium-nitride? A new semiconductor material, gallium-nitride, has high band gaps, thermal conductivity at high temperatures, radiation resistance and acid resistance. It also exhibits high strength, hardness, and toughness. It is used extensively in the development of early-stage new energy vehicles, rail transit and smart grids, as well as semiconductor lighting and next generation mobile communications. Structure of the GaN crystal
This crystal structure can be described as the periodic distribution or ions/molecules of atoms. In theory, the crystal will extend to infinity at space coordinates. This means that periodicity could be converted into translational stability (or translational invariance). Therefore, the whole crystal is generated by periodic repetition of the basic unit called crystal cell, which can contain atoms/ions/molecules/electron groups and is electrically neutral. GaN crystal is a hexagonal crystal of the super-stable Wurtzite lattice style (GaN material has two distinct structures: hexagonal and cubic, both of which are common nitride structures and also are stable at low temperatures. GaN cannot be broken down by hot or cold water. It can also not be broken down by hydrochloric acids, sulfuric acid or cold 40%HF.
